Performance Window Cleaning

Assemble your materials and tools. To execute a simple cleaning operation on your windows, you’ll need a few items, including:
Brush or sponge (or a squeegee), Squeegee made of rubber for drying, a lint-free or absorbent micro-fiber cloth, a rag or a clean cloth, Bucket with cleaning solution in it. To protect the indoor floors, use a large towel. Prepare a cleaning solution. You may clean your windows with a variety of cleansers, but most experts recommend a simple water and dish soap solution. Using a spray bottle and a paper towel or newspaper to clean windows will only shift dirt and cleaning solution around, leaving streaky and murky windows. Make sure the windows are clean. For windows with several small panes, a sponge can be used, and a squeegee can be used for bigger picture windows. Dip your sponge into the cleaner bucket. Wipe down the entire window, being sure to get into all of the corners, after wringing out the extra water.

Wipe the windows clean and dry. Use the rubber blade on the squeegee to wipe away the water vertically from top to bottom on small-paned windows. Use horizontal strokes to create a photo window. Begin at the top of the window and work your way down. Overlap each stroke by a few inches (centimetres), then wipe the blade dry between strokes with a lint-free cloth.

Wipe any excess water from the inside of the windows. Wipe the area dry using an absorbent, lint-free cloth where water spilt, dripped, or ran down the glass. This will keep the window from streaking.
Dry water off the window sill with a separate cloth or rag to avoid damage to the frame.
